Visiting the Yorkshire sculpture park to see the Caro exhibition held showcasing large sculptural pieces made from a range of industrial metals and sheets of colored acrylic, I began to then construct my own sculpture from scrap materials similar to the ones Caro but on a small scale.
Photographs were taken and from this and I drew observational sketches, then began to collage the two together trying to keep the form of to sculpture still present just in an abstract way.
I then took the collaged pieces transferred them onto photoshop changing them into a collection of garments.
Overall I was pleased with the final visual aesthetic and outcome; I'd have liked to have worked further on this, developing it into final garments and taking high quality images.

This brief was based on the theme scape which I interoperated and progressed onto the idea of body scape.
I photographed a male model and began to look at the natural contours that the body is able to create with shadows.
Moving onto development I looked closely at continuous line and studied the shapes that are formed.
I decided to stay with a black and white colour palette as I didn't want the focus to be taken off the aspect of shape and began to look at the garment itself changing the form of the body like the work I've seen of Lucy Mcrae, where she pads out a body with bulges grass, I could use this technique for my final construction.
I focused on the technique stippling and made a final print taken which I developed from a machine stitched continuous line sample, the print itself is created entirely from small dots in the areas from the shadows and visible contours of a male models collar bones.
Taking sections from the print and transferring the shapes onto fashion illustrations has given me the form for the adornments.

Within a brief based on distortion I came across sculptures by Tony Cragg which feature glitch art constructed from materials such as wood and metal, his pieces look as if an everyday item has been manipulated to create unique shape.
I took Craggs work as inspiration for my own by taking an everyday object such as a water bottle making many prints of it, layering and distorting it to create three separate shapes from one source image.
